Carney’s Dragon Pool

dragon pool

We have changed the booking for this Sunday 6th October at Carneys, to the Dragon Pool which is generally fishing better than the Damsel.

To avoid any potential issues with pleasure anglers we have committed to booking the whole pool; so if you can possibly make it this Sunday your support will be greatly appreciated.

Last Chance to fish the Willows

This Sunday 29th September may be the last opportunity to Fish the willows for quite a while.

With match bookings for other venues filling up the 2020 diary, we may not be fishing here next year.

Love or hate the Willows, it can’t be denied that it is a “big fish” venue, so this Sunday could be an opportunity for 100lb+ day.

Directions for anyone that needs them are:-

Postcode for the Sat Nav is ST19 5QJ (Bickford, Penkridge,)

  1. As you come into Penkridge on the A449 from Stafford you will see a black & white Tudor style pub (The White Hart) on the left – turn right into Pinfold lane.
  2. Go under the railway bridge, round over the river bridge and keep following the winding road for maybe a couple of miles up to the swan pub (on your right)
  3. Just past the swan pub turn left, follow winding lane carefully for about half to two thirds of a mile
  4. The fishery is on your right. The entrance is a simple farm gate immediately after Bank House farm Kennels

Oak Pool Curborough

We have been allocated OAK POOL (1.25 ACRES) for tomorrow’s match

The Oak pool is a favourite with the pleasure angler. Carp are the predominant species here although you’ll find a mixture of other species. Sizes average around the 5lb mark, although don’t be surprised if you hook into the odd monster!!

Oak has 20 pegs with the depths varying from 3 to 6 feet ideally suited for a variety of styles including pole, waggler and feeder.

Neville is leading a convoy tomorrow at 07:30 from Wolsley Bridges if anyone is unsure how to get there
