This weeks venue is Horns Pool which is situated behind the Horns Pub at Slitting Mill (WS15 2UW). Approximately 3 miles further on from Carneys (if you are traveling from the Stafford direction that is)

The track to the left hand side of the pub, takes you down to the car park by the pool.

I dropped in at the venue on Thursday (a warm sunny day) and saw countless carp basking and cruising on top.

Chatting with the bailiff he told me 112lb won Wednesdays match – mainly F1s with carp taken in the margins later on mostly caught on meat. Other methods he recommended were pellet shallow and also paste,  particularly on the deeper – siltier side of the lake, if it starts to fizz.
